In Orlando, WAVE Winter was a success in resourcing church techs, worship leaders, and church AVL professionals in one location with over 35 exhibitors. Attendees came away with enhanced knowledge in lighting, staging, sound, visual arts, and more. With worship led by Ascension Worship each day, the mood was uplifting and encouraging. This atmosphere provided an environment of growth and opportunity for enhancing and empowering the technical and artistic sides of ministry.
Kristin Hicks, creative director for Metropolitan Baptist Church commented, “You’re guaranteed to grow creatively and spiritually at the WAVE conference.”

Church Techs Inspired by Discovery Church Tour
One of the conference’s highlights was the tour of Discovery Church in Orlando. Conference attendees had the opportunity to learn about this church’s media production and be inspired by their incredible ministry.
The tech and media teams at Discovery Church graciously hosted WAVE attendees for a tour of their new broadcast center at the Sandlake campus. The tour included a question and answer with the tech team and a worship service featuring Discovery Church’s worship band.
WAVE Founder, Ron Procopio, Expert at AVL Conference Industry
During the conference, many partners, speakers, attendees, and exhibitors commented that it seemed like WAVE has been around for a long time. While WAVE Winter was the second event using this brand, its founder, Ron Procopio, is no stranger to the worship and creative arts conference space.
“My industry expertise goes back multiple years to the Worship Facilities Expo, as I was on the management team and ran the expo, registration, and production of that event for over four years. I also helped launch the Church Facilities Expo a few years back,” comments Procopio. “I love live events and it’s a privilege to serve ministry professionals and church techs. My goal is to provide a quality conference to inspire and assist this special group of people.”
A virtual WAVE online church tech conference will be held February 7-8, 2023. The next in-person WAVE event will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, September 12-14, 2023.
“We strive to make WAVE one of the most helpful and inspirational conferences for worship leaders and church techs,” Says Procopio. “We are well on our way and it warms my heart to know that this conference meets a huge need in the worship AVL community.”
“This Training exercise and information given will greatly expand the knowledge and training of my AV Ministry. Very grateful for the opportunity to attend. Next time I’m going to try to bring my whole team,” commented Matthew Randolf, executive assistant to the senior pastor of Macedonia Missionary Bible Church

WAVE to Gain Traction and Increase Worship Community Movement Now and in the future
Procopio aims to continue growing the WAVE brand in order to equip church tech with valuable conference experiences now and in the future.
Says the technical director of North Hills Church, Tyler Ballentine, “WAVE energized our team to take our church tech to the next level.”
Equipping and serving church techs, technical arts directors, and worship leaders with the best options for worship, audio, video, lighting, and even stage design and presentation is the ultimate goal.
